Glow Within is designed to work without an account: what you write in the App stays on your device and, if you use it, in your iCloud. Only if you choose to use the artificial intelligence features does the content of each request pass through the Glow Within server to reach OpenAI. This policy explains which data is involved, who processes it and what rights you have under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
The data controller is Silvia Tasini, an individual based in Rome (Italy), who develops and publishes Glow Within (“we”). For any privacy question you can write to silviatasini@gmail.com.
In the App you can enter diary pages (text, mood, gratitude), manifestations and intentions, your answers in the morning and evening rituals, the habits you tick, the Become Her sections (identities, future habits, ratings, reflections), the images, phrases and audio of your Vision Board, saved looks, completed workouts and challenges, Alignment scores and XP and, if you wish, your name. Some of this content may concern your physical and emotional well-being. It stays on your device: we don't receive it, read it or share it with anyone, except what you send to the artificial intelligence features when you use them (section 6).
If iCloud is turned on for Glow Within on your device, the App copies your content into the private iCloud database of your Apple ID, so you find it on all your devices; the name you choose is stored in iCloud key-value storage. Apple stores this data under its privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy) and only your Apple ID can access it: we cannot see it. You can turn sync off in Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
When you add an image or audio to your Vision Board, the App only accesses the items you pick in the Photos or Files picker, never the rest of your library. A copy of the chosen item is saved inside the App (and, if turned on, in your iCloud).
The artificial intelligence features (Coach, Future Self, AI Stylist with the outfit analysis and “Generate My Version”, the suggested Vision Board category and the weekly summary message) are optional and only work with your explicit consent, which the App asks for the first time you use one of them. For each request the App sends only what is needed to answer:
The request passes through a server run on our behalf by a technical provider acting as data processor. The server keeps neither texts nor photos: it records only technical data (the feature used, the duration and the amount of text processed) and keeps the IP address and a random installation identifier in memory until the end of the day to apply usage limits. It then forwards the request to OpenAI, which processes it on our behalf to generate the answer, may keep it for up to 30 days to prevent abuse and does not use it to train its models.
The installation identifier is not linked to your identity and is replaced with a new one by “Delete all my data”. For Premium features the App also sends your subscription receipt signed by Apple, used only to check that it is active.
Future Self letters and the versions of looks you save stay on this device only. You can withdraw your consent at any time from your Profile, under “AI features”: from then on the App sends nothing to the AI and everything else keeps working.
Premium subscriptions are bought and managed through the App Store. Apple processes the payment: we receive neither your payment details nor your identity. The App checks on your device whether you have an active subscription. Apple only gives us aggregated sales reports. Apple's privacy policy applies to these purchases.
Catalog images (workouts, styles, inspirations) are downloaded from Unsplash's servers: as with any download from the internet, Unsplash receives technical data such as your device's IP address. Workout videos open in the YouTube app or in Safari, outside Glow Within, where Google's privacy policy applies.
The App contains no third-party analytics or tracking tools. If you chose in iOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
If you email us, we use your address and your message only to reply. We keep them as long as needed to handle your request, and no longer than 24 months. Please don't send us information about your health.
We process personal data only when it is needed to provide the App and the services you asked for, including your subscription (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to answer your requests (Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where applicable, to comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). For the artificial intelligence features the legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and, for well-being data, Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the rest of the App.
Your content stays until you decide otherwise. You can delete any single item in the App, or everything at once with “Delete all my data” in your Profile: the data is deleted from your device and, if sync is on, from iCloud and your other devices. Uninstalling the App deletes the data on the device; the iCloud copy remains until you delete it from the App or from Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage. Deleting your data does not cancel your subscription, which you manage in your Apple ID settings. “Delete all my data” also deletes the Future Self letters and the looks generated by the AI, withdraws your consent to the AI features and replaces the installation identifier.
Your content is protected by the security of iOS and iCloud. Requests to the artificial intelligence features travel encrypted (HTTPS). We recommend protecting your device with a passcode and turning on two-factor authentication for your Apple ID.
Glow Within is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly process data of anyone younger.
Apple, Google (YouTube), Unsplash and, if you use the artificial intelligence features, OpenAI may also process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data. The content you enter is on your device and in your iCloud: you can view, edit and delete it directly in the App. You can withdraw your consent to the artificial intelligence features at any time from your Profile, under “AI features”. For any other request write to silviatasini@gmail.com: we answer within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of your country.
We may update this policy if the App's features or the applicable laws change. The current version is always available in the App, with the date of the last update.
